Letter of 6 May 1928

To an individual believer

My dear Bahá’í Sister,
I am instructed by our Guardian to thank you for your welcome letter of April 13th with enclosure.
He was much interested in what you had written him as regards oil mines in your and neighbouring properties and I must say at the beginning that he has been deeply touched by the spirit in which you had written your letter and by your desire that in accordance with Bahá’í teachings, if the mines prove valuable, the proper proportion may go for public Bahá’í utilities.
Whether the lots prove valuable commercially or not, the fact still remains that your gesture in writing to our Guardian is truly worthy of a Bahá’í and is sufficient to prove your eagerness to apply the teachings of the Bahá’í Faith and not profess it by name.
As regards the exploitation of the lots, and their value from a practical point of view, of course our Guardian would not wish to say much and would advise you to seek expert advice on the subject. Perhaps in the few words he will append to this letter, he will suggest the name of one of the friends who could help and advise you in the matter.
Please accept the love and good wishes of the Master’s family for yourself, your husband and children and permit me to assure you of Shoghi Effendi’s heartfelt greetings.
