Letter of 15 June 1942

To Rowland Estall1

Dear Bahá’í Brother:
Your letter of February 15th reached the Guardian yesterday, and he has instructed me to answer you on his behalf.
He was very happy to hear from you. He has been following your activities, through various reports, with deep interest, and the news of the formation of a Spiritual Assembly in Winnipeg this spring greatly cheered him. This is, indeed, a victory of major importance to the Seven Year Plan, and more particularly to the Faith in Canada.
The progress which the Canadian believers, so few, relatively, in numbers, have been making is truly remarkable, and the Guardian hopes that this year they will succeed in doing twice as much as last year! This year is, he feels, the most important one as upon its success and failures depends the entire Plan’s success or failure. Of course, needless to say, the Guardian is not envisaging the possibility of failure at all. But the great drive forward towards our goal must be mainly carried on this year, as there will still be a great deal of consolidation work needed to round off what has already been accomplished.
He is pleased to hear that you have fully recovered your health, and he hopes that your efforts during the coming year will be even more richly blessed than in the past.
His prayers will often be offered for you, and he welcomes news of your activities.

1.Rowland Estall—a founding member of the Montreal youth group, homefront pioneer to Vancouver and Winnipeg, served on the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Canada (1948–1972), the Auxiliary Board (1954–63), and as a Counsellor for the Americas for several years in the Caribbean beginning 1973, passed away in 1993.  [ Back To Reference]
